It saddens us to announce that today Thursday, August, 16, 2018…multiple Grammy award-winning singer, Aretha Franklin, has died at the age of 76.
Best known as the QUEEN OF SOUL with a career that span over seven decades, some of her greatest hits were the songs…. Respect, Think and I Say a Little Prayer.
Aretha Franklin was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. Her publicist Gwendolyn Quinn said, “The cause of her death was advanced pancreatic cancer. Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.”
Franklin’s family said in a statement they had lost their “matriarch and rock”, adding: “We have been deeply touched by the incredible outpouring of love and support we have received from close friends, supporters and fans all around the world. Thank you for your compassion and prayers.”
